Round 4 of 8: December

Judge: Jerry Hoak

Creative Director, Droga5 new york

"Happy 2015. I just wanted to thank everyone who submitted a video for this assignment. The brief wasn't an easy one. Not only did you have to educate yourself, and in turn the viewer, you also had to do it in a two minute video. A video that could "go viral" no less.

The most important thing to an assignment like this, and most assignments for that matter, is to really understand the brief. Taking the time to research and understand the problem in front of you leads to ideas that are less expected and more effective.

The best ideas were the ones where the creatives knew everything there was to know about phishing. Conversely, many of the entries resulted in creative that was shallow, barely scratching the surface of the issue. Most of these were clearly created with very little knowledge of the subject.

There were a number of ideas that really impressed me. Many of you pushed the brief and found ways to get around all of the inevitable production difficulties. There were innovative uses of YouTube, clever demonstrations on Facebook, and impressive songwriting and animation.

Congratulations to the winners, and good luck with the next assignment."
