Round 2 of 8: October

Judge: Stefanie DiGianvincenzo

STRATEGIC DIRECTOR & GLOBAL CURATOR ON RARE, GOOGLE

There were lots of ideas around new award categories, diversity rankings and hiring initiatives, some of which rose to the top above others. Why? Because I was looking to award ideas that I felt would genuinely affect widespread change. Ideas that could shift the behaviour of many, not just a few. Ideas that I could ultimately execute through Rare – whether that be through an owned initiative, or one that I could execute with a brand partner.

The ideas that performed the best showed a real understanding of industry motivations, and worked in a way that, I felt, would genuinely drive change in the day to day operations of the business. And the ideas that fell short did so because they missed that mark – either they focussed on changing consumer behaviour, or changing the behaviour of an isolated group within the business.

Overall, I was very impressed with the entries, and look forward to getting in touch with the winners to talk more about how we can make some of these ideas happen.
