Round 5 of 8: January

Judge: Matt Eastwood.

WORLDWIDE CCO, J. Walter Thompson

"Changing societal perceptions is hard. It’s a tough thing to do; to not merely highlight the issue of gender equality, but to come up with an idea that could actually help influence real change. That’s what I was looking for in the work. I was incredibly impressed with the standard of entries overall. The strategic insight, the quality of creative thinking and, in some cases, the overall execution was amazing. There were a number of ideas that cleverly infiltrated new media spaces in order to surprise viewers with a message when they least expected it. That felt very smart to me. And, ultimately, the work I chose to award Gold to did exactly that. “Game Changer” is an idea that could truly change culture. My hope, however, is that all the winners, the finalists and, indeed, the entrants will have the spotlight shone on their work. Young Glory is a great forum in which to prove that you have what it takes to be successful in an ideas industry. Bravo to all those that entered. And, particularly to those that won."

- Matt
